A quick word about me

Hi, my name is Kit… how do you do? 🙂

After having many encounters with the folks from the International Christian Church (founded by American preacher, Kip McKean) at my university in Sydney Australia, I decided to do some research on their teachings, practices and history.

What I discovered really surprised me, so I wanted to share it with everyone.

My research is the result of speaking to people who are current members in the ICC (in particular the Sydney International Christian Church), as well as people who have left the ICC after noticing red flags. I have also scoured the Internet for testimonies of people who have had previous associations with the ICC and the International Churches of Christ (ICOC) – an earlier church network started by Kip McKean.

Every ICC person that I have spoken to has been friendly to me, therefore I have no reason to believe that such persons have motives other than to win me to their faith (and ultimately save my soul). I really appreciated that… and I still do whenever they approach me on campus. If what they believe is true, they should be commended for their hard work in evangelism.

In spite of this, I believe it is also important to analyse whether what they believe is actually what the Bible teaches. Since they perceive themselves to be the true church of Jesus Christ in a world full of counterfeit churches, this (really big) claim needs to be taken seriously and given some assessment.

The articles that I publish on this website aims to be an accurate representation of their doctrines. But I will also address areas that, I feel, need to be corrected in light of the Bible’s teachings.

Please note…

Dear reader, if you are a current member of the ICC and find anything that I write off-putting, let me assure you that I am by no means trying to “persecute” you. I have zero interest in mistreating you or oppressing you unfairly (because that’s what persecution means).

On the contrary, my goal is to help you weigh up the teachings of the ICC. I’m doing this because most people who join the ICC are relatively young in age and with limited Bible knowledge, therefore do not have the theological training to discern ICC teachings.

So, let me invite you to become a “Berean” and search the Scriptures for yourselves (Acts 17:11).
